This award-winning short film for MTV’s World Problems. World Solutions storyboard contest, was one of the ten ideas commissioned by MTV Networks from a worldwide pitch. It won 2nd prize at the Cardiff International Animation Festivals and was screened at the Ottawa International Animation Festival ’92 and the Hiroshima International Animations Festival ’94.

A short surrealistic fantasy on racism. An African-American, a Latino and an Asian are attacked by an animalistic society represented by chameleons, snakes, lions and leopards. The animals hiss and growl at the people to change their colour, accents and names, just as society asks us to conform and change our spots. Spotted Puppets is about looking inward and being yourself and not dancing to the tune of authority. The film entertains while providing a positive message for a multi-cultured society.
